CFRI is hiring 12-18 Forestry & Fire Ecology Field Technicians to assist with forest restoration research and monitoring projects throughout Colorado. Technicians collect forest characteristics, fuels data, and botany data across the Colorado Front Range.
Daily work involves off-trail hikes between 0.5-5 miles from vehicles through multiple forest types in all weather conditions. Technicians may also work in remote, high elevation (greater than 10,000 feet) terrain with minimal shelter from the elements (sun, wind, rain, hail, snow). Crews usually camp in established campgrounds but may dispersed camp near field sites. Technicians should expect to frequently work and camp in areas without cell service.

- CSU students or FRCC students transferring to CSU for the SP26 or FA26 semester ONLY
