Kat is a Research Associate who joined CFRI in 2017.  After working in fire management for the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service, she transitioned to forestry research in pursuit of ecologically and economically viable management options.  She has fieldwork experience in Colorado, Oregon, Arizona, and New Mexico.  Her interests lie in understanding the changes produced by fuel reduction treatments as well as what factors drive treatment longevity.  She has a B.S. in Environmental Sciences from University of California, Berkeley and an M.S. in Sustainable Forest Management from Oregon State University.
